KENNY SIPES
PRESIDENT, THE ROOSEVELT FOUNDATION
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER
PRESIDENT, THE ROOSEVELT COFFEEHOUSE / REDEEMING INJUSTICE
MANAGER, ROOSEVELT COFFEE LLC
Read Bio
Kenny is a former youth pastor that succeeded in mobilizing people to worldwide mission work, where he specialized in projects from home restoration to investing in the lives of people. This led him to begin The Roosevelt Coffeehouse to mobilize justice through an everyday experience. After doing relief work in Lesotho, Africa and Cambodia, Kenny was struck with the dire needs of freedom, water, and food in the United States and underdeveloped countries and decided to take action. The Roosevelt Coffeehouse was created as a non-profit coffee shop to fund initiatives to do lifesaving work both locally and worldwide.
Kenny began as the President and Founder of The Roosevelt Coffeehouse, where he secured the non-profit determination, led all fundraising, secured the location of the coffeehouse, established the social media identity as well as city-wide networking, hired all staff and baristas, created all internal systems, managed the entire experience of The Roosevelt Coffeehouse, and led the giving of over $230,000 to date. In 2018 a second location was opened in Franklinton at the Gravity Project and a licensed entity was opened in Olentangy River Brewing Company in Lewis Center.
Also in 2018, the ultimate success and excellent reputation of The Roosevelt Coffeehouse resulted in the idea of branching off into the roasting industry to start Roosevelt Coffee Roasters. Kenny and The Roosevelt Coffeehouse team had the idea to eliminate the middleman out of coffee purchasing to increase sales and maximize profits to save even more lives. The paramount goal of Roosevelt Coffee Roasters is to provide the coffeehouse with its own brand of coffee, fund long-term employment for the core staff, and to secure wholesale accounts where coffee shops can serve locally sourced, justice-minded coffee.
