We know April isn’t over yet, but we wanted to share with you how effective your coffee shop has been.
As we get our feet under us, we are navigating donations by way of our tips and donations jar. Here at The Roosevelt we split our tips and donation jar between our amazing baristas and organizations we support. Since April 1, here is what we have done.
- We have donated 45 meals to Faith Mission
- We helped finance a YWCA membership for a woman rescued from being trafficked. Her and her two daughters were best responding to swim/water therapy, so we helped the Human Trafficking Division of the Salvation Army secure that membership.
- We made a $450 donation to Restore International to help fund their Restore India work against human trafficking.
- At our Grand Opening we committed our donations to the Human Trafficking division of the Salvation Army. They are looking to increase their communication tools. Weaver Law Services matched that donation and we were able to give $456 that day. This was in addition to the $159 raised the rest of the week for them.
- This past week we were able to donate $369 to Exile International who are doing ongoing art therapy for rescued child soldiers in war torn areas of Africa.
- This week with the tragedy in Nepal, we have again committed to working with Restore International. Prior to this tragic event they are were on the ground in Nepal doing great work. These funds will go to their Restore Nepal Relief Fund.
